Firstly, to thank each of you for your involvement with the 40 Days of Prayer and for standing with us as we prayed for our nation and for KMMC. We trust that in the process you were also blessed and grew spiritually.
Today there are three specific prayer requests that we would like to bring to your attention:
There have been serious complications with Joshua Lwere's visa application over the last week or so. This is because Joshua has been in England for the last few weeks as he is the chief mediator between the opposing Ugandan parties since the violence erupted after the recent elections. Joshua got back to Uganda late on Tuesday evening, and with the Embassy being closed yesterday has only today to get something right. All info that we have from the SA side is that it is impossible for him get the visa today, so let us put our faith in God that He will achieve today whatever He wants to, even if it is humanly impossible. Let us pray for Joshua and the Minister in the Presidency, Frank Tumwebaze, who will be assisting him, that they will know exactly what to do, who to speak to, and that they will find great favour. Pray also for Tebogo Masoga, the person in charge of all visa processes at the Embassy, and also for Prof Lekoa Mollo, who is the High Commissioner (Ambassador); that God will soften their hearts and that they would be prepared to do what is not normally done.
Nevil Norden's devotional in 40 Days of Prayer was titled, 'Word Based Prayer' and in the 2nd paragraph he said, "When we pray according to God’s Word we pray according to His heart, His mind and His will. Jesus said we must speak to our mountain and not speak to Him about our mountain in Mark 11:22-24."
"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mar 11:22-24 NIV).
I remember when I read that I sensed that God is probably going to require of us to speak to some mountain in preparation for this year's conference. I think that time has now come and the mountain that we need to speak to is the cold front that is on its way toward us bringing strong winds, a bit of rain and cold weather. All along we have prayed for ideal weather for an open air conference and camping, and that nothing about the weather would negatively affect what God wants to do. Let us continue to praise Him for that. Let us also speak to that cold front that it will drop plenty of rain in the Western Cape and the Southern Cape, but that as its point approaches the Compassberg (highest mountain in the Cape - about 40 km west of Renosterfontein), it would weaken from its centre, it would lose energy, it's winds would die down and it would move off in a south easterly direction. Let us form a wall of protection with our prayers, preventing it from having any negative impact on the conference.
Let us pray for a safe and blessed trip for every person traveling to the conference over the next few days. Pray for patience, driver alertness and protection from any dangerous situation of whatever nature.
Intercession at the Conference before each Session: The vision we have for this year's intercession before each session is for hundred's of men to come into the 'Big White Tent', to kneel down in the presence of Almighty God and cry out on behalf of themselves and others for God to work powerfully. This intercession will start one hour before each session and lasts 40 minutes. The Scottish Piper will play a Rallying Cry on the Bagpipes ten minutes before the intercession is due to start. We want to encourage each of you to come and bring all your friends - there is room for thousands in that tent. We believe the preparation of our hearts during this time and the prayers that go up as incense as going to be critical in opening the 'Gates' for the 'King of Glory' to come in and have His way.
Yours in His Service
